Long World frequently works with estate planning professionals tasked with closing a deceased or transitioning Client's property.

The majority of homes we empty are in Chicago, Chicago suburbs, and Southeast Wisconsin, but we happily travel anywhere.

We complete any or all of the following tasks:

  • researching current value of belongings and obtaining appraisals

  • selling or consigning belongings, including fine art, vehicles, precious metals, and firearms

  • donating specific assets as specified by the Client

  • packing, shipping, or delivering bequeathed items to museums, organizations, or individuals throughout the U.S.

  • recommending real estate professionals and contractors

  • organizing and supervising property repairs

  • preparing the property for real estate photos

  • locating and delivering confidential paperwork

  • donating useful unsold items to people in need

  • removing chemicals, recycling, and disposables from the property

  • emptying a property completely after its sale

Long World charges for our labor and expertise and are compensated through standard invoicing. We do not take a commission on sold items.

Long World understands and navigates the challenges that come with working in gated communities or exclusive high-rise buildings.

Owner Pamela Martin is present at every job and is available 24 hours a day by phone or text.

For homes within Chicago, Chicagoland, and Southeast Wisconsin:

The price to empty a 2,000 square foot home depends on the volume of contents and typically ranges from $5,000 - $15,000. We offer a complimentary, in-person review of the property and provide an estimate.

For homes outside our service area:

We offer a complimentary Zoom or FaceTime session to review the property and provide an estimated price for emptying the home. Additionally, we charge for travel expenses, lodging costs, and truck rental.

For all projects, the estate receives 100% of the proceeds from sold, consigned, or auctioned valuables, including those from gold and silver. (Auction houses take commission, but Long World Services does not.) All sales are authorized by our Clients.
